Mental First Aid

Speak calmly, make eye contact, and listen attentively with an open mind. Reassure the person they are safe, create space if necessary, and refer them for additional help when needed.

Maintain Good Hygiene

Protect yourself and the victim from contamination by working clean. Wear disposable gloves if possible, wash your hands before and after providing first aid, and ensure objects and surfaces are clean.

Master your first aid skills

The better prepared you are, the calmer you will be.
Take a first aid course so that you become familiar with basic first aid principles. Having a well-stocked first aid kit on hand also gives you more confidence in emergencies.

Ensure
Safety

First, check if the environment is safe for you and the victim.
Make sure there are no hazards that could cause further accidents or injuries.

Assess the Situation

Check the victim’s consciousness and assess their vital signs (such as breathing and pulse). Determine if the victim is responsive and if there are any visible severe injuries or conditions.

Alert Emergency Services

Call emergency services and provide clear information about the situation, location, and the victim’s condition. Follow the operator’s instructions if needed.

Provide
First Aid

Administer the necessary first aid, such as CPR, wound care, or stabilizing vital functions, until professional help arrives.
